A Happy Time of the Year

I shot five college commencement ceremonies in a week's time. You'd be hard pressed to find more joyous occasions. I need to get a lot of "must have" shots, but otherwise I try and concentrate on capturing the emotions of the day.

World class composer, author, and performer Roseanne Cash got a bit "thumbs up" from a very young fan this week at Frederick's Weinberg Center for the Arts, in Frederick, MD.

I am a huge fan of The C. Burr Artz Trust's Frederick Reads program,

and am privileged to photograph  some of the events.  Yesterday's 
program featured Natasha Trethewey, Post Laureate of the United States, 
who was fascinating.

For the photographers out there, this is what you get when you fail to meter 
properly when your D800 is already set to ISO 6400and you're two stops
underexposed. This is why you want to shoot raw files, and not jpegs..
