Shooting With Junk

I shot these with the front element of a junk drawer Spiratone 135/f2.8 lens dating from the late 1960's taped to the front of a junk drawer manual bellows dating from the late 1970's on my "non-work related" Nikon D5300 body. I bought  the camera body, but the lens and bellows were free.

Thumbs up for Roseanne Cash!

World class composer, author, and performer Roseanne Cash got a bit "thumbs up" from a very young fan this week at Frederick's Weinberg Center for the Arts, in Frederick, MD.

USA Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey at ISO 25600

I am a huge fan of The C. Burr Artz Trust's Frederick Reads program,
and am privileged to photograph  some of the events.  Yesterday's
program featured Natasha Trethewey, Post Laureate of the United States,
who was fascinating.

For the photographers out there, this is what you get when you fail to meter
properly when your D800 is already set to ISO 6400and you're two stops
underexposed. This is why you want to shoot raw files, and not jpegs..

From the Vault: George Thorogood, 1979

Warming up at The Weinberg Center for the Arts, Frederick, MD, January 1979
This was a great show, and right before the band broke through nationally.
Being with the press, I was able to shoot from on stage.
A man hard at work.
